Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been appointed vice-captain for the East Zone squad. He will serve as deputy to Ishan Kishan in the Duleep Trophy 2026. Experienced pacer Mohammed Shami also returns to domestic cricket action. The squad features a blend of international cricketers and emerging talent. Riyan Parag and Akash Deep are absent due to rehabilitation.
